Lake of Blood

A large, blood red lake rests between sandy shores and grassy hills. The water is a milky red color due to the minerals present in the rich soil. Long tendrils of buffalo grass reach for the sky, fluttering in the soft breeze that's always present. To the far North lay a mountain range, watching over the lake like a doting parent. The stream that feeds the lake is small, but it rushes in the spring and summer and still trickles in the winter months. In the East there is a great coniferous forest, providing shelter to the herd in the summer monsoons. To the West and South is hilly grasslands, providing the locals with plenty of feed to last the whole year through. In the midst of these plains sit a trio of apple trees.
