Hi folks, so sorry if this is a redundant question. I'm a little confused over the light vs dark alliance sort of thing: would dark just mean you have a 'darker' character, or is there a subplot I have missed? Thanks for reading and paying attention to my obliviousness ;D

Omgezz, hello CRG! (JacknBarbossa BTW)
Basically, yes. If your character is light, they've usually got the "make love not war" mentality and are loving towards everyone and everything. Neutral means they've got a foot in between both alliances. Dark means that your character is all for blood, gore, and thinks that you're weak if you don't follow this mentality.
Of course, that's just the stereotypes I've seen that have defined the whole alliance thing. Like LeJea said, I really just use the alliances as a grouping system and my characters are what they are. Take Liesel, for example: if I was making her into an equine, she'd be a neutral but still had those dark leanings (like no remorse for tearing out your windpipe lulz). You can use the alliances however you like, but that's how I do it c:
